Admission

1. For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of patrons, the Pakenham Racecourse reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the premises any persons who deem to be intoxicated and/ or disorderly, or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive or who are not entitled to attend the venue or racecourse.

2. The Pakenham Racecourse may refuse entry to any person who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with reasonable requests from the Pakenham Racecourse and will be removed from the premises.

3. Pass-outs may be issued at the discretion of the Pakenham Racecourse staff.

4. All patrons must adhere to the dress code standards.

5. Alcoholic beverages must not be taken into or out of the premises. It is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol or for persons to supply alcohol to minors.

6. The Pakenham Racecourse reserves the right to inspect/ search bags, eskies, prams, pushers, and other belongings at gate entry point and patrons may be searched. Patrons who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the premises.

7. Items which, in the opinion of the Pakenham Racecourse, have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person or racehorse will not be permitted into the premises. These include glass wear, personal BBQ’s, metal or sharp objects, knives or dangerous weapons, flares/ fireworks and pets.

8. Balloons, balls or any other flying objects, shade structures including picnic umbrellas, shade tent/marquees or any other non-secured items. Laser pointers, loud hailers and weapons of any description are not permitted.

9. The Pakenham Racecourse reserves the right to confiscate any non-conforming items or items that potentially could cause injury or public nuisance, this includes large flags/banners, musical instruments, etc.

10. Umbrellas (handheld) are permitted in the premises but must not be opened or raised in any indoor areas at any time or restrict public viewing.

11. Patrons are permitted to bring food and non-alcoholic beverage products onto the course but not into the proximity of any food outlet, dining areas or fun

Ticketing

1. Tickets are available at the gate on each day however they will be $10 per adult. Make sure you jump online to purchase your tickets and save 50%.

2. Patrons may not be admitted if their tickets are damaged or defaced or their tickets have not been purchased from an authorised ticket agent. Tickets not purchased or obtained through the Pakenham Racecourse or its authorised sales agents might be stolen or counterfeit tickets.

3. The Pakenham Racecourse accepts no responsibility for stolen or counterfeit tickets purchased or obtained through unauthorised sources. Spectators in possession of tickets that are counterfeit or have been reported as lost or stolen will be refused entry or removed from the premises at Pakenham Racecourse’s sole discretion.

4. The Pakenham Racecourse is not obliged to replace tickets under any circumstances, including, but not limited to loss or theft.

5. Pakenham Racecourse reserves the right, however, to replace a ticket which has been lost or stolen and charge a fee for that replacement, in its sole discretion.

Risk

Patrons assume all risk of any damage or loss (including property damage, personal injury, economic and consequential loss) however it arises at the premises.

Patrons bring personal belongings onto the premises at their own risk. Premises management will not be responsible for any damage to or loss or theft of a Patron’s personal property.

If you enter the premises there is a possibility of an accident causing injury, death or property damage or loss and you need to be aware that such risks exist. The risks associated with entry to the premises include but are not limited to the risk of suffering injury, harm or loss as a result of;

(a) temporary structures (including without limitation umbrellas, marquees and furniture), parts thereof or other debris being dislodged by wind and coming into contact with people, vehicles or structures;

(b) incidents involving the movement of horses (including without limitation where horses jump fences, railings or break free – whether being led or ridden in their stalls – and come into contact with people, vehicles or structures; or

(c) harmful acts (whether intentional or inadvertent) committed by persons *(including without limitation, intoxicated persons) present on the premises

Alcohol

The Pakenham Racing Club holds the right to refuse service of alcohol. The club also holds the right to remove patrons from the Pakenham Racecourse if the club believes you are;

  1. Intoxicated
  2. Violent, quarrelsome or disorderly
  3. Smoking in a smoke-free area
  4. Suspected of having or using illicit drugs on the premises
  5. Behaving in a way that causes the licensee to commit an offence under the liquor laws
  6. Falling asleep on the premises

All patrons entering the course are advised that:

  • They are entering a licensed premises
  • Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to enter
  • Persons in possession of liquor will not be permitted to enter
  • Checking procedures will apply to prevent persons possessing liquor from entering
  • Intoxicated persons will be removed from the premises
  • It is an offence for minors to purchase and consume liquor
  • It is an offence to purchase liquor for (or supply liquor to) minors
  • Persons supplying liquor to minors will be reported to the Police and penalties apply under the Liquor Act 1982.Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Identification and actions relating to under-aged drinkers
  • PRC commits to take all reasonable precaution, to ensure that no person under the age of 18 purchases or consumes alcohol on the racecourse or at the community events.
  • ID bracelets will be issued to persons deemed to be of questionable age by PRC staff at the main gate entrance point. The bracelets will assist bar staff and security staff with the management of underage drinking.
  1. Identification and actions relating to intoxication. All staff engaged in the service of alcohol are appropriately trained in responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and at all times the PRC will have on duty, RSA representatives to regulate consumption.
  2. Purchase Limits for Public Bars. Purchase limits are enforced at all events at the Pakenham Racecourse as per the conditions of the licence.
  3. BYO – The Pakenham Racecourse has a NO-BYO policy in place and this is enforced at all entrance points to the track. All eskies are inspected by security guards who will be positioned at all entrances to ensure compliance with policy. The Pakenham Racecourse will advertise & promote at all opportunities that it has a No BYO policy. At all entrance points to the racecourse the No BYO policy is clearly advertised by appropriate signage.
Photography
  1. Please be aware that official photographers operate on course.
  2. When you enter the Pakenham Racecourse, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.
  3. By entering the event, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by Pakenham Racing Club and its affiliates and representatives.
  4. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar Pakenham Racing Club events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of Pakenham Racing Club.
  5. By attending the event, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged.
  6. Patrons are not permitted to take, record, sell, publish, disseminate or reproduce in any form, for commercial purposes, any still or moving image or any sound recording of any event at the racecourse

Racing Victoria Limited Photography Policy.

A person may only take images of activities at the racecourse for personal use only and must not make available any images for commercial exploitation, sale or distribution by any person unless accredited by RVL. Where the Club or the Stewards reasonably suspect that images are being taken for non-personal use, the person taking the images will be liable to immediate removal from racecourse at the direction of the Club or Stewards, with follow up of these actions to be heard at a RAD hearing.
