What time does The Pakenham Picnic start and finish?

The Pakenham Picnic 2018 is open the following dates and times:

  • Friday 19th October 4pm-10pm
  • Saturday 20th October 12pm-10pm
  • Sunday 21st October 12pm-8pm
Can I bring my children?

Children are welcome to attend – they do require a ticket; however, for all children under 18 (and accompanied by an adult or guardian) their ticket is at no cost ($0).Please note that all under 18s must be supervised by a responsible parent or guardian at all times

Where can I park? Is it free?

Free Parking is available at the Pakenham Racing Club. Please see attendants on arrival for directions.

Will there be a taxi rank?

A drop off zone will be located near the front gate. Note that we cannot guarantee the availability of taxis/ubers so we encourage you to pre-book these

Can I bring my own food & drink?

A vast range of delicious and fabulous food vendors and stalls will be on offer at The Pakenham Picnic. While not encouraged, food is permitted. No alcohol can be brought into the event. Wine glasses are also strictly prohibited. We will be offering specially branded wine glasses for $5. These reusable wine glasses are perfect for all wines.

Is Picnic furniture allowed?

We encourage you to bring along picnic rugs to lounge on for the day. Folding chairs are also allowed. Please note that tables, sunshades and umbrellas are prohibited. Prohibited items will be confiscated by security at the gate

Are dogs allowed?

The Pakenham Picnic is a pet free zone so please don’t bring animals with you to site (except for guide dogs).

Is smoking permitted?

There will be a designated area for people who wish to smoke at the event. Smoking is only permitted in this area.

Will there be ATMs and eftpos facilities at the event?

Yes, we will have ATM’s on site with all bars offering eftpos facilities as well

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Yes, from our front ticket box. Tickets are $10 at the gate, but if you jump online and pre-pay before the day, you will receive them at half price – ONLY $5 per person. https://www.trybooking.com/XXLM

Can I buy a pass for the weekend?

No, unfortunately tickets will need to be purchased for each individual day

How will I receive my tickets?

Your ticket will be sent as an attachment to the email address you submit with your order. Please print out your tickets and bring with you to scan to gain entry.

Will I be asked for proof of age if I have purchased a child’s ticket?

If you look over 18, yes you will be asked for proof of age at the gate.

Will I need to bring proof of age identification?

Yes.

To purchase alcohol: If you are over 18 years and look under 25 years old – you will require a proof of age wrist band.Identification will be required to be shown at the front gate or bars.

In addition, Bar staff may also ask for proof of age when purchasing drinks.To gain entry with a child’s ticket: If you have a child’s ticket and look over 18 years old, you will need to provide proof of age to security at the entrance to gain entry.

What happens if it rains?

The event will go ahead should it rain so long as it’s safe to do so. In the case of rain please come prepared with wet weather clothing and appropriate footwear.

Is there shade onsite?

There is a limited amount of shade onsite so please come prepared with hats and plenty of sunscreen.

How do I get to Pakenham Racecourse?

Drive Address: 420 Nar Nar Goon-Longwarry Road Tynong VIC 3813.

Free car parking is available at Pakenham Racecourse.

Drop off Zone: Patrons can be dropped off at the drop off zone near the main entrance.

What does the ticket price include?

The ticket price provides entry in to the event site. The entry fee will help cover some of the costs of providing entertainment and activation on each day, and providing a safe environment for all patrons. Food and beverage can be purchased onsite from a variety of vendors.
